Foul or Not: Don West’s (George Zimmerman’s Lawyer) Daughter’s Instagram Picture

Earlier this week, George Zimmerman‘s lawyer, Don West, was pictured in a seemingly innocent Instagram photo taken by his daughter, Molly West. The photo shows the Don and Molly along with another women eating ice cream, however the caption reads, “We beat stupidity celebration cones #zimmerman #defense #dadkilledit”. Critics say the Instagram was offensive given that the trial involves a person who was killed. As i’m sure you know, the Trayvon Martin case deals with the murder of an unarmed teenage boy who was gunned down by Zimmerman in February of last year. Zimmerman claims that he acted in self-defense against Martin, who he claimed attacked him brutally. Zimmerman’s trial is currently ongoing as he fighting a second-degree murder charge and the trial is receiving large amounts of media attention given the hoopla that surrounded the case last year.

Don West released a statement regarding the photo:

“As a parent, we’re not always proud of things our children do, but we love them anyway, and then we move on.”

The Instagram account has since been deactivated. What are your thoughts?

Don West and his daughter are cruel, insensitive & mean-spirited. How can you make jokes about a trial when you’e the prosecuting attorney? Not only should he be disbarred but how can someone be allowed to continue on a trial that clearly he takes as a joke? I have no respect for him. This is the kind of hate that is perpetuated in our society which is why George Zimmerman is on trial in the first place.

Yikes… I think she was proud of her dad, I mean, I’d be rooting for mine if he was under so much pressure. I don’t think this was meant to be malicious at all, but just one of those things that people don’t really think about it being offensive to others. Just an oops in my opinion. Check out my post on the case:
